Armed Forces to be equipped to meet challenges: PM
Karachi: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan has no expansionist intentions in the region.
Addressing a ceremony regarding the inclusion of PNS Shamsher in Pak Navy, the Premier said that Pakistan was doing more than its capabilities to eliminate the anti-peace powers in the world. The PM observed that self-sufficiency in arms production was the need of hour and vowed to provide the army with modern equipment despite the economic crunch. He noted that Pakistan, China ties were very deep and based on mutual trust, and added that the inclusion of PNS Shamsher would further boost the ties. Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Nauman said that F22P Frigate has been prepared in view of the Pak Navy’s requirements, while the third frigate was being prepared. Earlier, the PM was given Guard of Honour by the Navy personnel.
