LAHORE: Thai Airways on Sunday brought 10 suspicious boxes at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, where the top US Consulate officials were available to get these boxes load onto a truck without getting them checked by the airport authorities.

Sources said that the boxes were brought under the “diplomatic cover” and were loaded onto a white truck in the presence of top US Consulate officials in Pakistan. Explosive Scanner machines for Karachi and Lahore railway stations have not been installed yet, due to what the Railway Ministry terms as “shortage of funds.” Two expensive detectors were donated to the Railway Department some time back.
