Foolproof security on Youm-e-Shahadat Hazrat Ali

Karachi: Divisional Comissioner Tahir Hussain has directed officials of law enforcing agencies to ensure foolproof security for processions and Majalis on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) on Wednesday.

He issued these directions while chairing a meeting of Divisional Intelligence Committee here on Tuesday.
He asked them to keep close liaison with organizers of processions to ensure security arrangements on the routes and other relevant places.
The commissioner also asked them to make security plan for Ramazan 27, Jumat-ul-Wada, Eid night and for Eid-ul-Fitr.

London: The three Pakistan players embroiled in betting scam allegations were to leave the squad Wednesday to face cricket and government authorities, de facto sidelining them from the team.

Flood water starts falling into sea

Islamabad: National Disaster Management Authority Chairman, Lt. Gen. (R) Nadeem has said that the flood water has now started falling into the Sea.

He said that flood in the Indus at Kotri which was exceptionally high is now gradually decreasing.
However, the breaches occurred on Sujawal side have some impact but the Thatta itself is safe, he added.
He said the water level at all the barrages in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Punjab has started receding bringing the flood at medium and low levels.

Sialkot lynching:Ex-DPO,six policemen on remand

Sialkot: Anti-terror court on Monday sent ex-DPO Waqar Chauhan and 6 other police personnel to jail on seven-day remand regarding Sialkot lynching of two innocent brothers.

The accused were presented before Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) where Deputy Prosecutor General Punjab Rana Bakhtiar Ali has requested for 7-day judicial remand, which court has approved.
