Washington: A delegation of senior Pakistan Army delegation visiting the United States for a major defense conference headed home in protest on Tuesday after they were questioned by security officials at Dulles International Airport.

Peshawar: Suspected miscreants attacked army buildings near the US consulate in Peshawar on Saturday, police said.
Police said armed fighters tried to get into a secure area close to the consulate and army buildings early in the morning, and that exchanges of fire between the attackers and security forces were continuing.
“Their target is unclear but they are trying to reach a very sensitive area. There is US consulate and army offices and buildings,” said Karim Khan, a senior police official in Peshawar.

Baghdad: A suicide bomber blew himself up Tuesday among hundreds of army recruits who had gathered near a military headquarters in an attack officials said killed 60 and wounded 125, one of the bloodiest bombings in weeks in the Iraqi capital.

Kabul: A military helicopter crashed during an early morning operation in southern Afghanistan on Monday, killing three Australian commandoes and an American service member, officials said.
The crash was being investigated but there were no indications of enemy involvement, NATO said in a statement.
The Australian government said three of the dead were Australians, and U.S. Lt. Col. Joseph T. Breasseale said the fourth service member killed was American.
